There are better ways to protect our security than giving away our freedoms

Nifty phrase don't you think?

For those of you who do not know, The UK labour party got it's ass properly kicked out of command, the UK conservative party has assumed control of the London majors office, as well as havong secured the highest amount of counsilers, all of this after winning the local election of England and Wales as well!

Does this bid well for the denizens of Oceania?

Well, labours not gone, but no longer will they be able to push their failing policies on their subjects. Violent crime pretty much doubled, firearm offences went up. Trust in the police has been falling, drug use and alcohol abuse by minors is rampant ... now it's time for a new policy.

Where does that title come from? This article by the conservative party.

Let us all hope for change!

The new national symbol!

Brought to my attention by TSLR's Chad.

The government today announced that it is changing its national symbol to a CONDOM because it more accurately reflects the government's political stance.
A condom allows for inflation, halts production, destroys the next generation, protects a bunch of pricks, and gives you a sense of security while you're actually being screwed.
Damn, it just doesn't get more accurate than that !

Zee law abiding have nazinkt to fear.

Government institutions at work:
Traffic police encounter a stolen vehicle. Their response: write out a ticket to the legal owner, as the car is improperly parked.
The DMV is now refusing to "erase" the ticked because the owner didn't appal it quickly enough, despite having faxes and letters to prove that he did.

For more text concerning the DMV, please read bigbears article, where one person left a very inspiring comment:

  • "If you think that sucked, wait till those same people are running the health care system."

Hillary healthcare, bringing you the DMV experience in times of sickness as well as in times of health!

Mother sues the government over strangeled daughter.

Or:
How catch and release may have resulted in the rape and murder of an innocent girl.

Though catch and release may be a bit inflammatory, I stand by it. The prison system allowed a criminal who was obviously not rehabilitated back out on the streets on parole. He was supposed to be kept track of, but wasn't.

Fast forward to today: A mother who has lost her daughther and blames the federal government, filed a suit naming the Department of Justice and U.S. Probation and the Pretrial Services Program.

Soldiers caught trying to sell guns to criminals

It's not the first time the militairy was found fueling the black market. I've read and written about it before, now again:

It would appear that Brittish troops routinely take guns back with them as trophies. These are not to remain in their personal posession and have to be deactivated. But smuggling live weapons and explosives back from Afghanistan isn't a unique event either, nor is "misplacing" ammonution and trying to sell it off later something that doesn't happen.

One royal marine was found to be in posession of various rifles, at least one AK-74, a rocket propelled grenade and a mortar.
Another one, Christopher Trussler, of the Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment was caught trying to sell issued ammonution and claimed he could also get a re-activated AK-74 ...
The list goes on and can be found here.

If only the police and the military can legally have guns, criminals will still have them as well. A black market will ALWAYS rise to suply the need created by a prohibition; wether it's drugs, underage pornography or firearms.

Assault rifles and grenade launchers, stolen from the military

Here's a little something for those who believe that only law enforcement, the military and a select few government agencies should be the only ones to be trusted with access to firearms:

"Police seized a haul of military weapons, including grenade launchers and an SA 80 rifle, in a raid on a house in County Durham. Officers found 16 weapons, together with ammunition, component parts and manuals, in the search at Chatsworth Terrace, Darlington, on Wednesday."

As long as guns exist, criminals WILL be getting their hands on them.
And the harder you make that process, the more profitable it'll be, providing only more incentive for them to attempt and corrupt "the only ones we should trust with firearms."
