Another honor roll student?

Here's another kid that'll go down as one of the many "child victims of the violent American gun cult"

"In the Bronx, where Rosado was born and raised and had scores of relatives, shock spread through his funeral.
''We were amazed,'' said Rosado's older sister, Jackie Alvarado, upon hearing the news that her brother had been killed. ``It was not the person that we knew.''
Those who knew Rosado before he moved to Florida described him as a serious student.
''He was always trying to protect people, not hurt them,'' said Jennifer Avallone, his fifth-grade teacher at PS 280. ``All the teachers loved him.''"

These people, whose statement can be found in the Miami Herald, are talking about the recently deceased , 14-year-old Eric Rosado, a.k.a., Eric Rosado, the 14-year-old who was shot and killed while robbing a South Miami-Dade grocery store last week.

For gods sakes ... 14!? A Fourteen year old kid who -for reasons unknown to me- thinks it's a good idea to rob a hardworking man at gunpoint? Some thing's seriously wrong here, I guess the crowd of control proponents will be telling me it's because he had a gun (which he held illegally, during the perpetration of a crime), or because the store owner had one (which he used within the confines of Florida law), or because of whatever ...

What do you think? What do you think drives a friggen kid, a 14 year old child to do something like this?

OMG! 14? Geez...

I don't know what to tell you, perhaps he didn't have "parenting" at home?

Here, we had a 15 y/o beat a 71 y/o, unarmed man in the head with a baseball bat. If I'd had my way, the idiot would be room temperature now. I hope they string his ass up an send him to prison where he belongs.

You people seem to forget that he was being used by an older lady who made him feel like he was in paradise while they were sexually active. We tried to break them up but he was hooked, and to try and stay with her despite her financial problems, he tried to get money some how to move away from those who apose their relationship. He could not work at the age of 14 so influenced by her they inteded to steel some money. My mom was a very good lady and she has never been arrested. My mom begged my brother to stay away from trouble.

Another thing if it wasn't for all the years of slavery you red necks would have nothing. Stealing from the natives.

Michael Hawkins said...

Redneck? Slavery?

I'm Belgian,I, nor my ancestors, did ever profit from slavery.
And the American natives were threated a whole lot worse than the slaves, so don't even think of drawing that parralel.

Why are you even bringing up "race" here? trolling?

But nothing in reference to the real story about Eric. He had parenting and its not about anything racial its that people are naive to real life. Eric was moved to florida 2 years ago and met this lady through his friend in school. His friends mom who had her children calling him daddy. He was a kid where his father corrected him with any type of force and he'd never even answer him back. The wrong association while his mother was at work.

Eric did not even imagine that he'd never walk out of that store. The criminal is not the child it was Ivonna the 33 year old who drove him 2 hours away from his house and mapped out this horrible thing to do. He went along because he probably thought this was the only way to help out their relationship. The cops were called several times but they both denied their romance.

I don't believe that killing him was the thing to do. Not one shot was taken by Eric but one from the store manager straight to the head. Something is definetly wrong there. Absolutely no one is the judge of anybody's death.
That is why there is the justice system. Sometimes you make decisions without knowing all the facts. I know that my brother would of never hurt or even killed anyone. He knew so much that he did this with a lady who he met 1 year before his death, because of thinking he was in love. My brother was not suppose to die yet. He was a baby.

The comment about a 15 year old beating an old man is totally different from Eric hurting anyone the victim was Eric not the store manager not Ivonna not anyone. He didn't touch or even hurt any one. They distroyed my mom who never commited a crime and goes to and knows very well what is right from wrong.

"Not one shot was taken by Eric"

This is exactly why I support the castle doctrine.

Yes, that's harsh and cruel even, but that is what I believe. I do not think that giving criminals or people who they control (by proxy) what they want, this encourages them. It encourages them to continue to commit armed robbery, making a hardworking man who may be struggeling to make ends meet, fear for his life!

Pointing a gun at somebody is a very serious thing. If a robber bursts into your house/store and puts one to your face, you are fully withing your right to meet his threat with deadly force.

I mourn all loss of life, make no mistake there. I think it's horrible that this child lost his life that day, but I firmly believe that the shopkeeper did the right thing. It's time that criminals realized that a serious threat to their wellbeing comes with the territory of threatening to kill law abiding people.

Sometimes life brings you into cerain circumstances that you can't change. Eric asked his family for money to help his so called girlfriend and they told him no, he didn't understand what was wrong with him trying to provide for an adult while being a child. How can he know the risk if he didn't know how serious this is.

Anonymous said...

A bb gun not even a real gun and you think he was a criminal. Only those who don't know him can say such a thing. Eric's drive was following the lady that he thought to be his love.

no working surveillance in the store is one of the factors that raises the question what happened to this child. The cameras weren't working with the system up and posted. He took a chance but, they shot him from behind he was facing the register and he gets shot dead in the head without knowing what he had walked into.
The store owner could of shot him to try and stop him not to kill him. His face was completely fine in the side of his head how was he threatening the store owners life. Eric should of not did what he did but the storeowner should of not killed him Eic was not even facing him.

i love you eric rosado rest in peace none of these people have any idea what messed up thing they did 2 you, the are no better than you.

Every one has a place in this world, some are store owners, some farmers, some teachers and some are cops. When some one commits a crime you call the person who's job it is to handle the situation. Over money this guy killed that little boy. He didn't involve anyone else in the store, he didn't say freeze everyone, he didn't even face any witnesses. He was trying to get money for his girlfriend, there where more people in the store and no time did he threaghten any of them. A person life is more preciouse than some money.

Michael Hawkins said...

If he never treathened them, what's up with his gun?

I don't need to convince you that Eric made a mistake, but because of a mistake he paid with his life, if that is what you believe in then you are saying that its ok for it to be done to you or anyone you care about. A BB gun could never kill you. The storeowner has a hot trigger finger. Eric was 14 can't even get on a plane alone, could not get a job, couldn't buy the BB gun or even drive himself 2 hours away from home to do a stupid thing. So killing eric would send a message for who criminals because eric didn't learn anything. What lesson exactly are you refering to.

Anonymous said...

You don't even know wether he had a gun or not, they could of said that the bb gun was his without it being true. Eric was big for his age, his father still gave him a good wack upside the head when he needed one. You can't possibly say you know anything you are just putting your nose where it doesn't belong for entertainment.

Michael Hawkins said...

No I don't *know* anything here do you?
Do you really think I LIKE reading stuff like this? What in my post gave you that idea!?

Putting my nose where it doesn't ... what?
It so happens to be I've got family stateside, I want them safe, so I write about unsafe behavior in hopes of inspiring people to find a way to get closer to a non-violent society.

If I hit a personal chord here, tough for you, but this isn't about Eric to me, it's about politics, it's about the fact that a 14 year old kid can get killed in certain circumstances.

"can or should"

It was wrong he was a baby, he didn't know what life is about no matter how much you would of explained it to him, he was too young. This lady should of not slept with him, should off not tried to move him away from his mother, and should of not asked him to help her get on her feet by robbing a store. She should off not drove him 2 hours away from his house. She is 35 years old waiting for a 14 year old ouside the store as a get away car. Eric wanted to move with this lady to Carolina until his mother called the cops to stop him, why because she "Ivonna" should of stood away from him when the cops warned her.

An entire year later and still no sign of recovery. The hardest thing i have ever had 2 face in my life is seeing Eric's lifeless body which plays in my head over and over again. This is not right and never will be. It feels like my life turned into a dream.

Eric was a great kid up until he met this lady who is still facing trail on this case. I hope the store owner knows that 2 wrong does not make a right, and that you reap what you sow. To kill someone and live with your self only tells what your destiny is going to be. Never will Eric go away, he will always be present as long as i'm around.

Michael Hawkins said...

This is indeed not something that should be forgotten easily.

I hope that the store owner has been able to get on with his life, which he -in my opinion- rightfully defended.

I'll not put the blame of his death on Eric himself, but most certainly not on the man who had a gun pointed at him by a criminal attempting to rob him.

Anonymous said...

The bb gun was never pointed at the person who shot Eric. So how was this man defending his life. Defending his store maybe but not his life. If this man is desperate to kill he should go hunting animals or something.
Eric was 13 going on 14.

Michael Hawkins said...

And he would have been going on 16 if not for a conscious decision to commit a felony.

Anonymous said...

He was concious of what he was doing not of the consequenses. When you are 13 there are limitations on what you can do. The laws also state that he is a minor, he can't drive, buy cigarrets, can't drink alcohol, but he's an adult to you. The fact is that he was incable of understanding the severity of the crime. A minor means that he was younger than the legal age of adulthood. No one in his family has ever been in trouble with the law they are nice desent people, its the community that influenced this poor boy. Ivonna Sanches.

Michael Hawkins said...

He's not an adult to me, pray do not place words in my mouth.
I would have identified him as a child ... holding a gun.

Whether a gun is fired by a child or an adult doesn't change the force of the expelled bullet. It doesn't make him any less of a threat, it does not factor into the response to be taken which is (in my case) taking the decision to defend yourself.

Please rid yourself of the delusion that I'm holding Eric accountable for his actions. I think what has transpired to be horrible.

my baby eric is missed too too much. I hope that Juan the cuban pays with his life for taking his.

Anonymous said...

eric was led to danger and was unable to identify the severity of the consequence, if i take someones daughter or son and brain wash them to commit a crime i'm almost sure that they will fall in the trap also. Ivonna Sanches was sleeping with a minor Eric and drove him to the store where he was killed. She needs to be stoned to death.
